A screen shot is an exact picture of what appears on your computer's
screen.
If you need for whatever reason to take "a picture" of
what is currently being displayed on your monitor, you're going to need some screen
shots.
As
veteran Windows users know, there's a low-cost way to capture (get) screen shots
for use in your documentation. Press the Print Screen key to capture
the entire screen. Switch to your word processor and press Ctrl-V to
paste the image into your document. At that point, you can format the picture any
way you like, including cropping it if your program allows.
If you want to capture a smaller image, press Alt-Print Screen. Doing so captures
only the current window, not the entire Windows desktop. Either way, Windows stores the image in memory
until you replace it by copying something else. It should be noted that the above procedures in addition
to your word processor can also be done with WordPad or MS Paint.
Cheers!
